It is ‘highly likely’ for Bernd Leno to be leaving Arsenal this summer.
The Germany international only managed one Premier League appearance from September onward last season after losing his place to Aaron Ramsdale in Mikel Arteta’s best XI.
And with this being a World Cup year, regular football is vital if the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper – a £22 million signing under Unai Emery – is to make the trip to Qatar during the autumn.
According to Goal, it is very probable that the 30-year-old leaves Arsenal.
The report adds that all parties – including Leno – are invested in a departure and that Fulham have already held talks about bringing the German to West London during the summer.
Leno has been included in Arsenal’s pre-season training camp in Germany and was photographed among the Gunners’ players this week.
Matt Turner’s arrival from New England Revolution is another reason for Leno to want to exit the Emirates Stadium, with the USA international potentially becoming Ramsdale’s understudy in North London, pushing the German further down the pecking order.
Leno has managed 101 Premier League appearances for Arsenal, clocking 25 clean sheets from that figure.
