With January on the horizon, a lot of football fans are gearing up for Silly Season lite – and Arsenal might now have their first taste of unlikely transfer rumours this winter.

The Gunners signed Willian on a Bosman this past summer after his contract with Chelsea expired.

According to The Daily Mail, the 32-year-old Brazilian winger was handed a £220,000-a-week deal with Arsenal.

But if rumours are believed, he already wants to leave North London.

According to La Razon, Willian is ‘not happy’ under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium and Real Betis are willing to make a ‘significant financial effort’ to bring him to Spain next month.

The report adds that the former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker would have to lower his wage demands to secure a move, however.

Is this likely?

Well, no.

It’s no secret that Willian is struggling at Arsenal, but the whole team is.

Arteta’s side are 15th in the Premier League table and if we’re honest, Willian has been no worse than other big-name players in North London.

He set up two goals on his debut against Fulham, but that was 10 league games ago and hasn’t created or score one since.

Arsenal fans might not be adverse to the idea of seeing him leave already, but it’s just not going to happen.
