Both Diogo Jota and Ibrahima Konate have looked very sharp in Liverpool training recently, the Athletic say.
Looking sharp
Jota and Konate were both selected to start for Liverpool at Old Trafford, in what were two of Jurgen Klopp’s more surprising selections.
The decision ended up being justified though, as Liverpool stormed to a 5-0 win.
Jota got on the scoresheet early on, as he slid in to covert a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross.
Konate also caught the eye, as the summer signing put in a highly impressive display.
Konate was unruffled at the back and dealt with the threat of Cristiano Ronaldo expertly throughout.
It could have been a nervy game for the 22-year-old, who has been used very sparingly since his arrival at Anfield.

However, his performance, which was only his third of the season, came as no surprise to those at Liverpool.
Rewarding fine form
Konate and Jota have apparently been two of Liverpool’s best performing players in training lately, and their start was reward for their fine form.
Whether Konate will now keep his place in Liverpool’s team remains to be seen.
Klopp has tended to favour Joel Matip so far this season, but Konate’s latest display may mean that it is difficult for Klopp to take him out of the Reds’ starting line-up.
