According to Roma Today, Jordan Veretout is now ready to leave Roma, with Newcastle and Tottenham interested in signing him.
What’s the story?
Well, the 28-year-old has lost his place in the starting XI under José Mourinho, with Sergio Oliveira preferred instead.
Aside from that, the Newcastle and Tottenham target is also struggling to agree a new contract with the Serie A side.
Veretout has repeatedly declared that he wants to stay in Rome, but the Italian outfit have blocked discussions over a renewal.
That has made the France international feel unwanted, and Roma Today believe he’s now listening to offers from elsewhere.
It is said that Roma value their No.17 at €25m (£21m), with the Magpies and Spurs believed to be huge admirers of Veretout.
So far this season, the former Aston Villa man has scored four goals in 33 appearances, while also providing nine assists.
Newcastle or Tottenham could embarrass Aston Villa

Back in 2017, Aston Villa sold Veretout to Fiorentina, after he struggled to impress at Villa Park.
However, since his move to Italy, the attacking midfielder has shone, and could now end up making a big move to Newcastle or Tottenham.
If a deal materialises, and Veretout takes the Premier League by storm, it would be quite embarrassing for the Villans, who gave up on the Frenchman.

Nevertheless, it sounds like a fantastic market opportunity for either Eddie Howe or Antonio Conte to take advantage of.
Keep an eye on this saga, as Veretout now looks extremely likely to leave Roma in the summer.
