Newcastle United are reluctant to pay the £20 million fee required to sign Valentino Lazaro, according to the Northern Echo.
Steve Bruce has reportedly made decisions over the futures of his loanees and it is now ‘unlikely’ that Lazaro will be at Newcastle next season.
While Danny Rose is on Bruce’s wishlist, Lazaro and Nabil Bentaleb do not appear to have done enough to earn permanent moves to the North East.
Lazaro has failed to establish himself as a regular starter in Newcastle’s team, even though he has shown flashes of quality.
With Newcastle’s budget not yet clear, it is thought that they are hesitant over paying such a large fee to Inter Milan for a player who has been nothing more than a back-up option so far.

Lazaro, himself, was said to be open to staying at Newcastle, but it seems like the winger will have to look at alternative options unless he can convince Bruce to change his mind.
Lazaro has made nine Premier League appearances so far, scoring once.
If Newcastle do decide against landing Lazaro, Bruce will surely be on the hunt for another winger, otherwise their options in forward positions could appear short.
