Speculation is rife that Liverpool are trying to sign Jamal Lewis this summer.
It was widely reported this week that the Reds failed to tempt Norwich City with a £10 million offer.
The Canaries could be forced to sell a number of their big-name players this summer after being relegated from the Premier League last month.
Lewis is among those who look destined to leave Carrow Road, but it might not be for Liverpool in spite of their reported interest.
According to The Echo, Liverpool are ‘uncertain’ whether the 22-year-old would want a move to Anfield.
Lewis – who’s valuaed at £20 million – is a left-back and the England-born defender could reportedly have reservations about being stuck behind Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice option Andy Robertson.
Robertson, who won a Champions League and Premier League title back to back, is one of Europe’s finest players in his respective position and if The Echo report is accurate, Lewis is right to have reservations.
The truth is that there’s no way he’s going to play ahead of the Scot on a regular basis and therefore it’s plausible that he might well snub the Reds.
It might be different if Robertson was maybe pushing 30, but he only turned 26 in March and more than likely has a lot of good years left in the tank.
