According to the Daily Star, Donny van de Beek is desperate to join Everton on a permanent basis following a loan move from Manchester United.

What’s the story?

Well, Van de Beek has only made two appearances for Everton, but it sounds like he’s enjoying himself at Goodison Park.

The Daily Star believe the 24-year-old will push to join the Toffees permanently if Frank Lampard can keep them in the Premier League.

Manchester United paid £40m to sign Van de Beek from Ajax in 2020, but after giving him just four Premier League starts, the Red Devils are willing to take a loss.

The Daily Star are claiming that Manchester United would accept £20m for the Dutchman, which is sure to interest Everton if he keeps impressing.

Van de Beek’s first Premier League start for Everton saw the Toffees record a 3-0 win over Leeds, and judging by his passionate celebrations, he’s already loving life on Merseyside.

Everton must sign Donny van de Beek

It was only in 2019 that Van de Beek found himself on the Ballon d’Or shortlist, after scoring 17 goals for Ajax as they reached the Champions League semi-final.

Before moving to Old Trafford, the Netherlands international was considered one of the best players in Europe.

Therefore, if Everton can get their hands on him for just £20m, it would be a no-brainer of a deal.

Van de Beek turns 25 in April, so his best years are still ahead of him.

If Everton can get him for £20m and he enjoys one impressive season at Goodison Park, that figure could easily triple by 2024.
