Valentino Lazaro is open to joining Newcastle United on a permanent deal, according to the Chronicle.

Lazaro joined Newcastle on loan from Inter Milan in January, and initially it was suggested that he would return to Italy at the end of his loan spell.

However, the wide-man is now reportedly willing to join Newcastle, as he is ‘open-minded’ about his future.

Whether Newcastle will push on and attempt to sign Lazaro on a permanent deal at the end of the season remains to be seen.

The 24-year-old has made a solid if unspectacular start to life at St. James’ Park.

Lazaro really impressed in an FA Cup game against West Bromwich Albion, but he hasn’t always looked completely comfortable playing at full-back.

Newcastle will have longer to take a look at Lazaro’s qualities at least, as they have just agreed an extension to his loan, which will keep him on Tyneside until the end of the season.

If Newcastle want to make Lazaro’s transfer a permanent one it is claimed that they will have to pay £20 million for his services by The Sun
