Reported Leeds United target Harry Wilson is likely to be left out of Liverpool’s squad this evening, according to The Times.

The Liverpool Echo suggested earlier this month that the £20 million-rated Wilson is on Leeds’ radar, with Marcelo Bielsa’s having made contact over signing him.

And Wilson’s move may be edging closer – with Liverpool claimed to be set to leave him out of their team this evening.

Liverpool are set to name a rotated team against Lincoln City in the League Cup tonight, but the Times say it is unlikely that Wilson will play any part, as the Reds don’t want to risk him.

Liverpool are keen to cash in on Wilson, but Leeds have been unable to agree a fee for him to date.

That could prove costly now, as it appears that Leeds have slipped behind Burnley in the race to sign him.

The Press Association claimed yesterday that Liverpool are now negotiating with Burnley over the winger, which means Leeds may have to act fast if they want to stand a chance of securing the wide-man.

If Wilson was to join Leeds he would give Bielsa even more attacking options to choose from, although the likes of Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford have all started the season well.
