According to Foot Mercato, Leeds target Maxwel Cornet has an ‘exit pass’ to leave Lyon this summer, amid interest from Marcelo Bielsa.
What’s the story?
Well, earlier this month, Victor Orta submitted a bid for the 22-cap Ivory Coast international.
The bid was worth £10m. However, Lyon did not think it was sufficient, and rejected the offer.
It has been said that the Ligue 1 outfit want £20m for the forward.
Now, Foot Mercato reveal that Cornet has been told he can leave, as long as they receive an offer which meets their demands.
That means Leeds would have to double their offer, which would be quite a big commitment from Bielsa and Orta.
Nevertheless, Cornet sounds like he’s worth the money, based on what he’s done in the past.
Pep Guardiola loves him

If you’ve managed to impress Pep Guardiola of all people, it’s safe to say you’re a good footballer.
That’s exactly what Cornet did when he scored against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and then netted twice against them in France.
Speaking after the forward’s heroics, Guardiola said he was ‘very impressed‘ by the Lyon No.27’s talent.
Furthermore, it seems the Leeds fans rate him highly too.

One even said he’s better than Raphinha when reacting to talk of the initial bid being submitted.
In our view, Leeds will have some of the best wide options in the Premier League if they sign Cornet.
Jack Harrison, Raphinha and Cornet – as well as Rangers forward Ryan Kent, potentially – all in Bielsa’s attacking system would be a sight to behold.
