Rangers and Celtic are often linked with the same players, with agents often exploiting the rivalry between the two clubs to drum up interest in clients.
You can never really tell when a player is truly on the radar of the Old Firm duo or whether they’re just being pushed towards Glasgow by agents, but one player is thriving after links with the duo.
Voetbal International – one of the most reputable sources in the Netherlands – reported in January 2020 that Rangers and Celtic were both keen on signing Renato Tapia.
The Peruvian was entering the final six months of his Feyenoord contract at the time, and the Old Firm pair seemingly thought they could land something of a bargain.
In the end, Tapia did leave Feyenoord as he became a free agent, and he chose a move to Spain with Celta Vigo. The 25-year-old has excelled in Galicia, racking up 22 appearances for Celta whilst putting himself on the radar of huge clubs.
AS report that Atletico Madrid are keen to sign him and keep him in Spain, whilst Juventus and Paris Saint-German are also interested in signing the holding midfielder.

What a rise this is for Tapia. He could barely get a kick for Feyenoord despite clearly having potential, and he seems to have found his feet quickly with Celta, making himself a wanted man.
Celta can now expect a huge profit after signing Tapia for free, and both Celtic and Rangers may now be ruing missing out on his signature.
