According to Il Messaggero (print version, via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Liverpool want Lazio forward Joaquín Correa.
The 5-cap Argentina international is in Jürgen Klopp’s sights, although it doesn’t look like he’ll be cheap.
Correa has a release clause worth €80 million (£69.6 million) in his contract with the Serie A side.
Il Messaggero state that Lazio will not accept offers, so that fee will need to be paid by Liverpool, and the South American will also need to be convinced to join.
However, something Brendan Rodgers did in 2013 could help the Reds get a discount on that £69.6 million sum.
Back in 2013, Rodgers brought Luis Alberto to Anfield.

The Spaniard didn’t do too well, and Liverpool eventually sold him to Lazio.
In the deal to take him to Italy, the Reds negotiated a 30% sell-on clause, entitling them to a cut of any fee received by Lazio if he is sold.
However, Il Messaggero claim that Lazio would be willing to sell Correa for less, if this clause is given up by the Premier League champions.

Very interesting stuff, to say the least.
In our view, Correa isn’t worth paying a monumental sum for.
The 26-year-old only has three goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season, which isn’t exactly amazing.
Klopp certainly shouldn’t move mountains to make this move happen.
