Chelsea could be offered the chance to sign Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, a player new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino wanted at Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.
The Sun have reported that Manchester United are determined to sign Mason Mount from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
United, though, are unwilling to pay the £70 million transfer fee that Chelsea want for midfielder Mount.
However, the Red Devils could be willing to include England international central defender Harry Maguire to sweeten the deal.
United value the 30-year-old defender at £30 million and could be willing to offer him to Chelsea as part of a deal to bring England international midfielder Mount to Old Trafford.
The Sun have reported that new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino tried to sign Maguire for Tottenham when the defender was at Hull City, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy did not offer enough and he moved to Leicester City instead.

Chelsea unlikely to go for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire now
In our view, Chelsea are unlikely to accept Harry Maguire in deal for Mason Mount.
The £200,000-a-week defender (SalarySport) has not been at his best at Manchester United, and while he has done well for England, Pochettino could perhaps look at his age now.
Maguire is 30.
Moreover, Chelsea do have central defenders, such as Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly and Trevoh Chalobah.
So, unless Chelsea decide to cash in one of the defenders they already have, it is hard to see them bring in another player for that position, especially someone who is 30.
