Everton have offered promising defender Con Ouzounidis a new one-year deal although Matthew Foulds, Alex Denny and Manasse Mampala are set to depart Goodison Park this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Champions of Premier League 2 in two of the last three seasons, the Toffees deserve huge credit for the work they have done behind the scenes at Finch Farm in recent years.

The likes of Mason Holgate, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies have become first-team regulars since making a name for themselves a U23 level and Ouzounidis, in particular, will be hoping to follow in their footsteps sooner rather than later.

The 20-year-old Australian was set to become a free agent this summer but, after stepping up to Premier League 2 level impressively in recent months, Ouzounidis has been offered fresh terms on Merseyside.

The Echo claims that he has been offered a 12-month extension, giving the Aussie U19 international one more year to prove himself under David Unsworth.

The same cannot be said of Foulds, Denny or Mampala (below), however. All three are packing their bags with their deals set to expire at the start of July.

“I would probably think that this is his last year at this level. He needs to forge a career for himself wherever that might be,” Unsworth told the Echo of Foulds earlier in the season.

A talented, left-sided centre-back, Foulds has fallen behind the likes of Lewis Gibson and Jarrad Branthwaite in the pecking order. Yet a youngster of his ilk should not be short of offers this summer.
