Arsenal defender William Saliba is said to be set for a Premier League loan with Newcastle United keen, according to the Daily Mail.
Saliba impressed out on loan at Nice last season and there was a feeling that he could finally be given a chance at Arsenal this term.
However, it seems that Mikel Arteta’s side are now plotting to loan him out.
The Gunners are hoping to land a central defender, with Ben White their top target.
Good news for Newcastle
If he does sign it appears that could be good news for Newcastle, who are hoping to land Saliba.
Newcastle have good links with Arsenal, and took Joe Willock on a short-term deal, which was a great success last term.

Willock scored in seven consecutive games for Newcastle, and if Saliba was to have a similarly big impact he would be a great signing.
Newcastle are actually well stocked at the back, but their current options are getting older.
And the arrival of Saliba could freshen up the group.
If the youngster was to impress, a good spell in the Premier League could help to convince Mikel Arteta that he does have a first-team future at Arsenal, as the Spaniard seems to have some doubts currently.
