Liverpool are set to play Rhys Williams alongside Sepp van den Berg at the back later this evening, the Daily Mirror report.

Liverpool are due to take on Lincoln City this evening, but the Reds’ squad could have an experimental look to it.

While Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara could both make their full Liverpool debuts, they could be surrounded by some of the Reds younger players.

Williams, who spent last season out on loan in non-league, could now be called into Liverpool’s first-team to start, the Mirror say.

The 19-year-old, who only signed a contract extension earlier this summer, is highly regarded at Liverpool – and his expected debut this evening is an indication of this.

Van den Berg, meanwhile, is a player who has had a handful of first-team chances at Liverpool before, but he also remains very inexperienced.

Van den Berg is even younger than Williams, and the pair are likely to be given a tough test in Liverpool’s backline tonight, even if Jurgen Klopp’s side are taking on lower league opponents.
