David Agbontohoma could leave Southampton in the summer transfer window with Sheffield Wednesday keen to sign the young centre-back, according to Examiner Live.
It has been three seasons since the 19-year-old defender made the switch from Arsenal to the South Coast.
In that time, Ralph Hasenhuttl has handed out first team debuts like they are going out of fashion, giving opportunities to the likes of Yan Valery, Kayne Ramsay, Alex Jankewitz and Michael Obafemi.
Agbontohoma, however, hasn’t come close to forcing his way into Southampton’s senior squad.
And, with his contract expiring at the end of this season, reports from Yorkshire suggest Agbontohoma will have to look elsewhere for opportunities.

Sheffield Wednesday have taken the teenager on trial and are understood to have been impressed by the way he acquitted himself during a 2-1 victory over Watford U23s last week.
The Owls were relegated from the Championship in heart-breaking fashion on Saturday and, after wasting so many millions on overpaid and underperforming players, Sheffield Wednesday could do a lot worse than centre their rebuilding project around talented, hungry and affordable young talent such as Agbontohoma.
