According to The Guardian, Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace target Olivier Giroud is ready to leave Chelsea in January following advice from France boss Didier Deschamps.
The former Arsenal striker has been advised to leave Stamford Bridge by Deschamps, with the European Championship finals in mind.
Giroud hasn’t started a game in either the Premier League or Champions League under Frank Lampard this season, and has just one start to his name which came in the Carabao Cup.
The Guardian‘s report comes after Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace were credited with an interest in his services back in June, as reported by the Express.
Giroud – who cost Chelsea £18 million – would prefer to remain in the Premier League according to The Guardian, although he would also be open to a move to Italy with Inter Milan interested.
The 34-year-old has slipped down Lampard’s pecking order following the arrivals of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz over the summer.
The Guardian say that Giroud is not at war with Chelsea’s hierarchy or Lampard, but Deschamps has made it clear that his EURO 2020 place might not be guaranteed unless his situation changes.
Despite his age, the World Cup winner would still be a fine signing for either Spurs, West Ham or the Eagles.
Giroud boasts 86 Premier League goals, four FA Cup winners medals, one Europa League success and a shedload of top-flight experience.
