Borussia Dortmund will listen to offers for £70k-a-week centre-back Manuel Akanji with the Leicester City target dreaming of a move to the Premier League, according to BILD.
Barely a day goes by in this window without the Foxes being linked with a new defensive talent.
The Premier League leaders have just six days to add some much-needed depth to their paper-thin backline, with Akanji emerging as a potential option alongside James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana and Jonathan Tah.
Two years on from his big-money move to Signal Iduna Park, the Switzerland international is undoubtedly a talented player – but he has failed to get those high-profile blunders out of his system.
Akanji was arguably at fault for the first goal in Dortmund’s draining 2-0 defeat at Augsburg at the weekend, struggling throughout to deal with the pace and power of Florian Niederlechner.
At the age of 25, it isn’t unreasonable to suggest the former Basel youngster should have ironed out those kinks by now.

Perhaps that’s why Dortmund are listening to offers in the region of £18 million.
Akanji, who has been dreaming of plying his trade in England for a number of years, could even earn a substantial rise on his current £70,000-a-week contract at the King Power Stadium.
Blessed with eye-catching pace and the ability to cover at right-back, Akanji may be something of a rough diamond but, in Brendan Rodgers, Leicester have a coach who knows a thing or two about polishing gems.
