Ligue 1 left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has turned down a potential £18 million move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Le10 Sport.

Angers coach Stephan Moulin might be expecting his teen sensation to leave before the transfer window slams shut next week, as he told RMC.

But that does not mean we are any closer to discovering Ait Nouri’s mystery destination.

The likes of Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Manchester United appear to have dropped out of the race while, according to reports from across the Channel, the player himself has turned down Bayer Leverkusen.

Yet the German club are not the only interested suitor to get the cold shoulder.

Le10 Sport claims that Ait-Nouri, a 19-year-old who has already established himself as one of the first names on Angers’ team-sheet, has no interest in following the likes of Nelson Semedo and Fabio Silva to Molineux.

Interestingly, It seems that the France U21 international is one of the few Jorge Mendes clients to turn down the Old Gold.

Atletico Madrid and Valencia have now joined the race for his signature, although a move to Barcelona feels unlikely at present, with the £23 million signing of Sergino Dest from Ajax expected to be the final new face at the Camp Nou this summer (Goal).

Wolves have three senior left-backs in their squad at present but two of those, Marcal and Jonny Otto, missed Sunday’s 4-0 thumping at West Ham through injury.

And Ruben Vinagre, given the run around by Jarrod Bowen, didn’t exactly do himself much justice.
