According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, intermediaries are working to try and get Feyenoord defender Marcos Senesi to Roma.

It’s claimed that Napoli are keen on Senesi, but he is now being offered to Roma as agents attempt to get him to Italy.

The report notes that Roma could be keen given that he can play at left back, with Aleksandar Kolarov heading to Inter Milan.

Feyenoord would allegedly want up to €20million (£18million) for Senesi, who joined them from San Lorenzo last summer.

The 23-year-old impressed in the Netherlands last season, and the news may be something of a blow to Everton and Leeds United.

The Mirror reported (05/07, p74) in July that Everton wanted to sign Senesi, with the Toffees looking for a left-footed centre back.

TyC Sports added last month that Leeds United want Senesi, as boss Marcelo Bielsa is seemingly familiar with the talent his compatriot possesses.

Leeds have since signed Robin Koch from Freiburg, so they may not be pursuing Senesi too strongly now, but Everton may now lose out to one of Carlo Ancelotti’s former clubs with both Napoli and Roma involved.
