Arsenal defender Sokratis is said to be holding a meeting with Genoa over a potential move to the Italian side, by Gianluca Di Marzio.
A clutch of clubs are trying to sign the central defender from Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta’s men thought to be willing to cash in on him.
Sokratis is now on the verge of an exit, but a move to Genoa doesn’t stand out to him.
According to the latest update, Sokratis would rather move to Real Betis, where he is being lined up as a first-choice partner to Marc Bartra at the back.
That means that today’s meeting will be crucial to Genoa’s chances of signing the defender, as they need to convince him that a move to Serie A would be his best option.
Arsenal will likely be delighted that there are a number of clubs now competing to sign Sokratis.

The 32-year-old, who they signed for around £18 million (Guardian), appears to have no future in Mikel Arteta’s squad, with a number of defenders ahead of him in the pecking order.
And with Arsenal planning a clear out he could be one of the first to depart this month.
