Last summer, Leeds were in dreamland as they were planning a return to the elite and looking to pit their wits against some of the best in the land.
With one of the best footballing brains in Marcelo Bielsa in charge of the Leeds train, they were looking to dip into the transfer market to try and sign some of the best talents around Europe.
One name that was being touted around was that of Michael Cuisance and he was a player Leeds fans were keen to snap up from Bayern Munich.
TalkSport did report last summer that Leeds agreed an £18 million deal for the Frenchman, but in the end, he ended up back in his homeland and on loan at Marseille.
But it’s fair to say that it has been one that Leeds fans will be glad that they didn’t push over the line because it has been a nightmare loan deal at Marseille for the sharp-thinking midfielder.
French outlet Le Phoceen have claimed that Cuisance’s loan spell has been cut short and he has been sent home by his manager Jorge Sampaoli.
It is said that Marseille think the 21-year-old is too ‘individualistic’ in training and his attitude has annoyed staff and teammates at the training ground.
Leeds have clearly got the luck of the draw here because such behaviour issues wouldn’t have been tolerated by the strict and highly demanding Bielsa.
And his fellow countryman, Sampaoli, who was appointed manager of the Ligue 1 outfit in February, clearly has the same viewpoint and has seemingly had enough of the midfielder’s issues.
Nonetheless, Cuisance leaves his homeland for Germany having played 31 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying one assist.
