Karlan Grant is “desperate” to seal a move to West Bromwich Albion in this transfer window but Huddersfield Town are refusing to lower their £17 million demand, according to the Daily Mail.
Former Terriers boss Danny Cowley is convinced the former Charlton Athletic talisman is a “Premier League player” in the making – and Grant could soon have a chance to prove him right (Examiner).
Although Huddersfield are making Grant’s move away from the John Smith’s Stadium difficult, the speedy 22-year-old is expected to bid farewell to the Yorkshire club before the October transfer deadline.
Newcastle felt Grant’s price tag was too high for a man who has spent only six months of his career in the top flight, turning their attention to Callum Wilson instead (Mail).
It appears West Brom, however, have no such fears.
The Baggies have already made a bid of about £15 million, although they will need to put another £2 million on the table if they want Grant to lead their line in the Premier League.

The report adds that Grant is “desperate” to link up with Slaven Bilic this summer and is “frustrated” at Huddersfield’s reluctance to let him go.
A ruthless finisher who scored 19 Championship goals last season and notched five times in nine top-flight starts in 2018/19, Grant feels like an upgrade on the other forwards at West Brom’s disposal.
No one in Bilic’s squad netted more than ten league goals during their promotion-winning campaign.
