Memphis Depay does not fancy a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur amid interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to Sport.
Arsenal target Memphis Depay stance on Tottenham Hotspur
Sport have reported that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign Depay from Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Tottenham reportedly wanted to sign the Netherlands international forward in the summer of 2022, but the 28-year-old did not – and still does not – want to join a ‘second-rate club’.
Sport have added that it is for this reason that the £159,000-a-week (SalarySport) Dutchman is not considering a move to Sevilla in the middle of the season.
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Depay in the January transfer window and will follow him for the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

Strange
We find it strange that Barcelona forward Memphis Depay reportedly considers Tottenham Hotspur a second-rate club.
Yes, Tottenham do not win major trophies, but there are very clubs in the big leagues in Europe who do.
Spurs are competing for the Premier League top four and are also in the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds this season.
Barcelona could not get out of their group and will play in the UEFA Europa League this season.
Now, of course, Barcelona are a bigger club than Tottenham, but Spurs are on the way up under head coach Antonio Conte.
