William Carvalho would prefer to join Wolverhampton Wanderers than Leicester City this summer, according to Estadio Deportivo.
When you consider that there is a growing Iberian influence both on and off the pitch at Molineux, it is easy to see why a 2016 European Championship winner would have his sights set on a move to the Black Country.
After all, many of Carvalho’s Portuguese team-mates are plying their trade in Old Gold these days.
And, according to reports in Spain, the chance to share a dressing room with Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio and co on a more regular basis would appeal greatly to the £14 million powerhouse.
But not everything is that simple.
As Estadio Deportivo point out, Jorge Mendes’s Gestitfute agency is exerting plenty of influence at Wolves these days.

Carvalho, however, is represented by Media Base Sports instead, headed by Pep Guardiola’s brother Pere. And this makes a potential move to Wolves that little bit more complicated, opening the door for Premier League rivals Leicester to snap up the former Sporting Lisbon enforcer instead.
Carvalho, for what it’s worth, would be proud to pull on the deep blue of Leicester and is keen on a move to England as he approaches the peak years of his career.
And while Leicester might not have a half the Portuguese national team in their ranks, they can offer something Wolves can’t right now – potential Champions League football.
