Lucas Vazquez wants to stay at Real Madrid, despite claims Leeds United want to sign him, the Athletic report.
Vazquez’s current contract, which is worth £148,000-a-week (Salary Sport), expires in 2021, but he is eyeing up a longer term stay in Spain, which could impact on Leeds’ chances of signing him this month.
Leeds would, theoretically, be able to talk to the winger about a move to Elland Road on a free transfer now.
And because of that Defensa Central said earlier this week that Bielsa had asked the Leeds hierarchy to bring the 29-year-old to Yorkshire.
Unfortunately for Leeds and Bielsa, with Vazquez seemingly so determined to stay with Madrid, the chances of him saying yes to any contract they would potentially offer him seem slim.

Vazquez would be an appealing addition to Leeds’ squad, if the Whites were able to land him though.
The Spanish international could play as winger or an attacking right-back in Leeds’ system, and his versatility and quality would surely improve Bielsa’s options, if he was to sign on.
