Nacer Chadli’s transfer to West Brom will reportedly speed up Callum McManaman’s switch to Newcastle.

According to The Times, Nacer Chadli’s transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to West Bromwich Albion will speed up Newcastle United’s capture of Callum McManaman.

Chadli clinched his £13 million switch to West Brom on Monday, ending a three year spell at White Hart Lane.

His arrival increases the competition for places at The Hawthorns, and makes McManaman potentially surplus to requirements.

The winger was already on the periphery, gaining only two Premier League starts last season, with 10 appearances from the bench.

SkySports reported yesterday that Newcastle are ‘exploring the possibility’ of signing the 25-year-old.

Newcastle also have Chelsea’s Christian Atsu lined up as a potential addition, although it is unclear if they will entertain the idea of signing both.

Chadli’s move to West Brom certainly pushes McManaman closer to an exit, and if it is not Newcastle making a move for his signature, there is a strong chance another club will come in for him before the transfer deadline.
