Julian Draxler has turned down a move to Leeds United with his £120,000-a-week wages blocking Paris Saint-Germain’s attempts to find a buyer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Mesut Ozil is not the only German playmaker in need of a fresh start and, like Arsenal’s £350,000-a-week misfit, Draxler appears to have little interest in giving up a mega-money contract at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Despite starting just seven Ligue 1 games last season and none during PSG’s run to the Champions League final, Draxler seems content with a role as an expensive back-up at the Parc des Princes.
And, according to TWM, it will take a club of considerable size and stature to convince the former Schalke wunderkind to walk away from the French capital.
Leeds United and Hertha Berlin may be two of the most ambitious, forward-thinking clubs in Europe at the moment but Draxler, who is valued at a bargain £14 million by a PSG side desperate to sell, has turned down moves to Elland Road and the Olimpiastadion.

A Bayer Leverkusen side that missed out on a place in the Champions League last term has also been snubbed.
Now it’s Lazio’s turn to tempt the hitman away from Paris but whether the Serie A challengers are capable of taking Draxler’s £120,000-a-week salary off PSG’s hands is another matter. So far, no one has been willing to take the plunge.
And, with the likes of Julian Brandt, Florian Neuhaus, Suat Serdar and Lucas Waldschmidt catching Joachim Low’s eye, another season on the sidelines could see Draxler pay with his place in Germany’s Euro 2021 squad.
