Omar Colley is excited about a potential move to the Premier League with Sheffield United making an approach for the Sampdoria defender in recent weeks, as reported by the Sheffield Star.
Chris Wilder’s blunt Blades may have missed the chance to treble their points tally in the space of 90 minutes away at Brighton on Sunday. But, despite Danny Welbeck’s late equaliser, there were still plenty of reasons for United to feel more positive.
Sheffield United looked more organised at the back than in recent weeks and, for once, posed a threat at the other end too despite playing most of the game with ten men following John Lundstram’s early red card.
The January transfer window also offers a timely opportunity to strengthen a squad hit hard by injuries, with a left-footed centre-half capable of filling a Jack O’Connell-shaped void at the top of Wilder’s wish list.
The Star reports Colley, a left-footed, 6ft 3in Gambia international with an £11 million release clause in his contract, would welcome a move to England.

How he feels about joining a bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United side with two points to its name, however, remains to be seen.
“(Sampdoria) want to sell,” Colley’s agent, Cheikh Fall, told CalcioNews24 in October before admitting Sheffield United and Fulham made approaches late in the summer window.
Work permit problems scuppered Sheffield United’s chances of getting a deal done a few months ago and, in the post-Brexit world, things won’t get any easier.
