Valencia will turn to Aston Villa scrapper Marvelous Nakamba if they fail to sign Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira before the transfer window shuts, as reported by El Mercantil Valenciano.
Unfortunately for Los Che, agreeing a deal for the Uruguay international will be easier said than done.
Torreira is on loan at La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid from Arsenal. And, according to reports from the Castellon coast, Diego Simeone’s table-topping side have already refused on multiple occasions to cancel Torreira’s deal and let him move 300 miles east.
The forgotten man of north London has struggled to force his way into Atleti’s midfield.
There have been a few green shoots, however, with Torreira featuring in three of the last four La Liga matches, impressing off the bench in Sunday’s 3-1 triumph over (you guessed it) Valencia.
But if Javi Gracia’s side accept defeat in their pursuit, that doesn’t necessarily mean the 2001 Champions League finalists will have to make do with what they’ve got until the end of 2020/21.

The report claims Ajax’s versatile Mexican enforcer Edson Alvarez is one option, with Nakamba the other.
An £11 million signing from Club Brugge in 2019, Nakamba impressed during a rare appearance as Aston Villa swatted aside Newcastle United at the weekend.
Then again, Nakamba was only in the team because of John McGinn’s suspension, while the impending arrival of Morgan Sanson threatens to force him even further down the pecking order at Villa Park.
