Newcastle United and Tottenham target Corentin Tolisso is now reportedly wanted by former club Lyon, with the French side eager to reunite with the midfielder.
According to L’Equipe, the 7th-place Ligue 1 side are in contact with Tolisso over a potential return, with Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, another former Lyon academy graduate and star player, also on the club’s radar for the summer.
Tolisso’s contract ends at the end of this season, with Bayern Munich keen to offload the French international, who earns a reported £115,000-a-week with the Bavarian giants without hardly playing.
Lyon aren’t the only club interested in Tolisso, though. According to Jeunes Footeaux, Tottenham Hotspur are fans of the midfielder, with the same report stating that Newcastle are keen on the 27-year-old.
Despite a lack of playing time with Bayern over the past few seasons and his high wage package, Tolisso could prove to be an excellent signing for most clubs around Europe this summer.
It is easy to forget that during his time with Lyon, Tolisso was one of the most exciting and dynamic midfielders in Europe, winning the Frenchman a big-man move to Bayern with some major clubs keen on the Ligue 1 star at the time.
Newcastle and Tottenham should do all they can to beat Lyon to Tolisso

With Tanguy Ndombele returning to Lyon earlier in the week, there would be something oddly romantic about Tolisso following a similar path to France, yet for Newcastle and Tottenham, they must ensure they are the victors for the midfielder.
Indeed, the 27-year-old has the quality to compete in the Premier League. And whilst a return to Lyon would be a great story for neutrals, both Newcastle and Tottenham could do with a midfielder of Tolisso’s quality in the summer.
