According to De Telegraaf, PSV Eindhoven have made contact with Toby Alderweireld’s agent as they look to take him away from Tottenham.
The Dutch outlet’s report says that PSV have ‘thrown a fish’ to the Belgium international, as they test his love for the north London outfit.
In our view, PSV’s enquiry is a very ambitious one.
Alderweireld is contracted to Tottenham until June 2023, having penned a new four-year deal in 2019 as the BBC reported.
Additionally, the 31-year-old is arguably one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, and is also a real favourite of Jose Mourinho.

The ex-Chelsea boss has played Alderweireld in 44 games since replacing Mauricio Pochettino at the helm.
The fact that Mourinho has only overseen 63 games goes to show that the Belgian – who Tottenham paid £11.4 million for – really is a favourite of his.
However, negotiations could presumably be affected by PSV’s relationship with Spurs.

The Eredivisie outfit were left fuming in January 2020 when Steven Bergwijn left the Netherlands to travel to London before joining Tottenham.
However, PSV had never given him permission to do so, as the Guardian reported.
If prising one of Mourinho’s favourites away from north London wasn’t hard enough, this strained relationship could affect negotiations even more, in our view.
