The seldom-seen Cedric Kipre is stuck at West Bromwich Albion after Preston North End opted to sign Liverpool youngster Sepp van den Berg instead, as reported by Lancs Live.
The Baggies’ forgotten man has already missed out on a move to Blackburn Rovers after his near £10,000-a-week wages scuppered any switch to Ewood Park (Spotrac).
And it seems Preston have also backed out of a deal that would have seen Kipre swap the West Brom bench for the Championship.
Lancs Live claims Alex Neil’s Lilywhites had a deal in place to bring Kipre to Deepdale, three months after the French defender left Wigan for West Brom in what initially looked a bargain £1 million deal.
But with Van den Berg arriving as part of the deal that sees Ben Davies make the surprise switch to Liverpool, Kipre won’t be heading back to Lancashire before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Preston are also expected to sign Liam Lindsay from Stoke City, according to Sky (live blog, 11.12am).
Kipre hasn’t played a minute of Premier League football this season, with neither Slaven Bilic nor Sam Allardyce willing to give the Paris-born 24-year-old a chance.
