The end might be nigh for Dele Alli at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old’s long-term future in North London is in serious doubt right now.
Alli seems to have dropped out of Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho’s plans this season.
Mourinho has omitted him from Spurs’ last two squads and there is speculation about Paris Saint-Germain signing him.
The Telegraph has now reported that the Ligue 1 champions are ‘increasingly confident’ of bringing Alli to the French capital.
And the report adds that Alli has indeed told the Lilywhites’ hierarchy that he’s keen on the move for the sake of a ‘fresh start’.
If a deal goes through, it’ll be on a season-long loan rather than an outright sale.
Bizarrely, Alli, who earns £100,000 per week in North London, looked to be the player who was most benefiting by Mourinho’s arrival when the Portuguese first replaced Mauricio Pochettino 10 months ago.
The former MK Dons midfielder was playing out of his skin and scoring regularly, but it didn’t last and now it looks like he’ll be the first high-profile casualty of the Mourinho era.
There was always going to be one, such is the former Chelsea and Manchester United coach’s style, and it remains to be seen what’s left of his Tottenham career if he leaves on loan.
