Report: £100,000-a-week player will soon be joining Everton, his arrival is 'imminent'

According to Calciomercato, Juventus shot-stopper Wojciech Szczęsny is nearing a move to Everton.

The Poland international is set to face competition for the No.1 shirt in Turin as Juventus line up a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Calciomercato mention Donnarumma, and state that Szczęsny’s ‘imminent’ exit adds some credibility to Juventus’ links to the AC Milan glovesman.

Now, this comes just days after Carlo Ancelotti publicly addressed talk of the former Arsenal man moving to Goodison Park.

When asked about Everton’s alleged interest in Szczęsny, the Italian simply replied that he already has a goalkeeper in Jordan Pickford.

Interestingly, he didn’t completely squash the rumours.

Ancelotti may well have a goalkeeper in Pickford, but he won’t have much competition for him once Robin Olsen’s loan move expires.

In Szczęsny, Everton would have a fine shot-stopper who already knows the Premier League quite well.

During his time at Arsenal, the Pole made 132 Premier League appearances.

Juventus spent £10 million to bring him to Italy, and currently pay the 31-year-old a salary of £100,000-a-week.

Now, that is quite a lot to be paying a No.2 goalkeeper, so if Ancelotti really does want Szczęsny, he’ll surely have to make him Everton’s No.1.
