Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris wanted to leave for AS Roma in the summer of 2021, but he could now sign a new contract, according to The Athletic.
New Hugo Lloris Tottenham contract
The report has claimed that AS Roma wanted to sign Lloris from Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho is in charge of Roma now, and the former Chelsea boss worked with the Frenchman at Spurs.
However, the £100,000-a-week goalkeeper (SalarySport) stayed at Spurs.
And now, according to The Athletic, talks have started between Tottenham and Lloris over a new deal.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper is out of contract at Spurs in the summer of 2022.
Tottenham are confident of getting a deal done, and Lloris himself is keen on agreeing a new contract.

Sensible from Tottenham Hotspur
Lloris is 34 now, but the Tottenham goalkeeper remains one of the best in his position in the Premier League.
The former Lyon star is the number one between the posts for head coach Antonio Conte.
Conte rates him highly.
The 2018 World Cup winner is also a regular in the France team.
So, in our opinion, it would make sense for Spurs to keep Lloris for another year or two.
But, Spurs should have an eye on the future and try to find a long-term successor to Lloris.
