According to Sky Sports Germany, Sead Kolasinac has left Arsenal to join Schalke 04 on loan, before the January transfer window has even opened.
Sky state that the contract has already been signed, which will take the Bosnia international back to his former club until the end of the season.
It is also said that the 27-year-old’s future after the loan expires is open – Sky do not rule out a permanent return to the Bundesliga.
Furthermore, Sky believe an official announcement could fall on New Year’s Day.
Towards the end of the report, it is said that Schalke 04 have tried, and failed, to re-sign the left-back on several occasions.

Now, however, they have landed their man.
Sky state that Kolasinac will forego a salary with the Bundesliga outfit, while Arsenal should continue to pay a portion of his salary.
According to Spotrac, the Karlsruhe-born defender earns £100,000-a-week.

Arsenal’s No.31 has found opportunities hard to come by under Mikel Arteta this season.
Kolasinac has made just one Premier League appearance this term, which came against West Ham on matchday two.
It now looks like he will not be involved in the second half of Arsenal’s season, as Schalke 04 succeed in re-signing their former defender.
