Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele is enduring a frustrating season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recent wobble continued on Tuesday night as they lost 2-1 away at Leicester City, handing Mauricio Pochettino some major questions to answer.
Spurs suffered a disappointing weekend with a 1-1 home draw with West Bromwich Albion, and were hoping to hit back against Leicester City – but it didn’t play out that way.
Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez struck fine goals in the first half to put Leicester 2-0 up, and whilst Harry Kane pulled one back in the first half, it was no more than a consolation for a disappointing Spurs side.

Pochettino is undoubtedly missing Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama right now, but he must also has a problem in the shape of midfielder Mousa Dembele.
Dembele, 30, struggled to really fulfil his potential with Spurs before Pochettino’s arrival as manager in 2014, but he has since become a vital part of the Tottenham midfield.
The Belgian’s ability to pick the ball up an drive through midfield has been crucial for Spurs, but with injuries piling up, his 31st birthday coming up at the end of the season and poor displays this season, it may be time for Pochettino to take the tough decision to look at life after Dembele.

Harry Winks has emerged this season and has certainly impressed in the Spurs midfield, but adding another player who can carry the ball through midfield in true Dembele fashion has to be a priority for Pochettino.
Whether it’s a move for Everton’s Ross Barkley, or even Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tottenham need to find a midfielder who can step into Dembele’s place in the near future, as performances so far this season suggest that the once-vital Spurs ace is breaking down – and that has contributed to recent results.
