Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Dominic Corness had signed his first professional contract at Anfield.

The 17-year-old has been involved in the Academy since he was just five, and his efforts over the years have now been rewarded.

Corness made his breakthrough in the Under-18 side last season, and boasts a very unique skill set which could interest Jurgen Klopp, in our view.

The teenager is a natural centre-midfielder, although he can also operate at left-back.

His versatility led to one supporter labelling him an ‘ideal replacement’ for James Milner.

As you’ll know, the 35-year-old has often filled in for Andy Robertson at left-back, despite being a natural centre-midfielder by trade.

Liverpool’s official announcement of the news contains more interesting bits of information.

The Reds state that Corness has a cultured left foot, so much so that he somehow managed to score directly from two corners in one game.

The versatile midfielder achieved the incredible feat earlier this season in a game against Stoke City.

By the sounds of things, Liverpool have another exciting youngster on their hands who could follow Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.

Let’s see what the Liverpool supporters on Twitter have been saying about the news…
