Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been discussing Ollie Watkins on social media after their frustrating 0-0 draw with Burnley on Wednesday evening.

The Villans had a frustrating night at the office against the Lancashire outfit as they had 27 shots, but failed to find the net with any of them.

Unfortunately, Villa’s keenness to get shots off led to less build-up play, which led to Ollie Watkins getting fewer chances, having just two shots all game.

Usually, fans would be fuming with a striker who failed to score and had just two shots in a game that they had 60 per cent possession in, but fortunately, some Villa fans were able to analyse the game in a little more detail, which led to many fans coming to the conclusion that Watkins had played well, but his service was lacking.

Yes, for every fan caling Watkins a fantastic player or praising his workrate, there was another saying they were feeling sorry for him for his lack of service, and you can understand why.

The Midlands club spent the majority of the game camped in Burnley’s half, but Watkins only managed to get two shots off, which is bound to be annoying for any striker.

Despite this, fans were still impressed by his workrate and overall performance.
