Some West Brom fans on social media have been praising Mbaye Diagne after his performance against Burnley.
The on-loan striker failed to find the back of the net against the Clarets, but he continuously got into good positions, and he really should have had an assist after putting a chance on a plate for Mathues Pereira in the second half.
The attacker has been a real handful since arriving at The Hawthorns, and while survival looks statistically unlikely at the moment for the Baggies, you have to feel that if they are to stay up, Diagne will be key to that.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for the Baggies today, but the fact that their striker was getting a lot of praise on social media after a game that saw them reduced to 10 men for over an hour is a testament to just how well they played.
It will be scant consolation for supporters of the Midlands club, as they desperately need points on the board, but if you’re looking for positives to take from the game on Saturday, Diagne was certainly one of them.
