Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter really want Nuno Espirito Santo replaced with Graham Potter of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Spurs have lost their last three Premier League games under Nuno, scoring once and conceding nine in that time.

Ahead of this afternoon’s visit of Aston Villa, optimism isn’t at an all-time high in North London – especially considering Dean Smith’s side won away to Manchester United last weekend.

One more defeat would make life very uncomfortable for Nuno at Tottenham – and some Lilywhites fans want the Seagulls boss to come in.

Despite losing one of their best players this past summer – Ben White, who joined Arsenal – Albion are flourishing under the 46-year-old, who oversaw a 0-0 draw against the Gunners last night.

Potter’s side are fifth in the Premier League table after five matches and have only lost once.

The English coach distanced himself from speculation regarding the Tottenham job during the summer, prior to Nuno’s arrival.

Here’s what some fans of the North Londoners are saying now:

Pep praise

Potter even has a ringing endorsement from Pep Guardiola, a three-time Premier League champion with Manchester City.

Earlier this year, Pep said after a 1-0 victory for his side: “We were in front of the best English manager right now. You have to be a top side to play that way.”

At this point it is hard to argue with the Spaniard that Potter isn’t the most skilled English manager around.

Lest we forget, Nuno is no mug and his work at Wolves illustrates that he could turn this crisis around.

But it really isn’t a good reflection on Tottenham if the manager they chose over Potter is struggling in such an awful way.
