Who is Charlie Patino?
Patino played for Arsenal’s first-team for the first time on Tuesday evening, so it’s fair to say that some supporters may not be aware of who this young man is.
Patino is a relatively unknown player right now, but in a few years’ time, don’t be surprised if he’s making headlines.
This classy midfielder has been touted as the next big thing to come out of Arsenal’s fantastic academy system. He’s been labelled the biggest talent to ever come through Hale End, while he’s also reportedly been earmarked for a starring role in the not so distant future.
He’s a very intelligent central midfield player with an eye for a pass, and while it may be an obvious comparison to make, there’s very much something of a Jack Wilshere about him.
How did Patino do on his debut?
So, why are Arsenal supporters fawning over Patino?
Well, he only went and scored a goal on his debut. The midfielder’s goal wasn’t a wondergoal by any stretch of the imagination, but it will have done his confidence the world of good.
Aside from his goal, he looked incredibly composed coming off the bench, and while it was only against League One opposition, it was great to see.
