Some Leeds United fans on Twitter have been raving over the performance of Luke Ayling against Newcastle United.
Once again, the full-back was playing out of position as a centre-half to cover for the injuries to Robin Koch and Diego Llorente, and once again he was playing absolutely brilliantly.
Ayling has received massive praise for his performances this season, and he looks every bit a Premier League player, whether he’s playing at right-back or at centre-back.
One Leeds fan even compared him to Ben White, which is ridiculously high praise from a Leeds fan as White was seen as one of United’s best players last season.
Unsurprisingly, there were shouts for Ayling to get an England call-up, and while right-back is probably the most competitive position in the country when it comes to international call-ups, showing his ability at centre-half certainly won’t do his chances of playing for the Three Lions any harm.
Away from any international dreams, the important thing is that Leeds came away with all three points against Newcastle, and despite conceding two goals, Ayling played a big part in that.
