We take a look back at West Bromwich Albion’s best wins in the month of March over the last decade.

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 West Brom (4^th March, 2008 – Championship)

A stoppage time winner from striker Kevin Phillips saw West Bromwich Albion move within a point of 2^nd place Watford.

The relegation-threatened hosts had been reduced to 10-men in the 77^th minute when Jermaine Johnson was involved in an incident with Jonathan Greening. After five minutes of added time, James Morrison crossed for Albion’s top scorer to head home the winning goal.

West Brom 4-3 Colchester United (29^th March, 2008 – Championship)

Tony Mowbray’s side left it late again as they overcome bottom of the league Colchester United at the Hawthorns.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead before Phillips and Chris Brunt netted to send the teams in level at half time. The U’s looked set to cause an upset as they went ahead once more when Kevin Lisbie capitalised on Dean Kiely’s fumble.

However, injury time goals from Morrison and Roman Bednar completed a dramatic last-gasp comeback for the promotion hopefuls.

Birmingham City 1-3 West Brom (5^th March, 2011 – Premier League)

West Brom went two points clear of the relegation zone with an emphatic win over their local rivals.

Blues midfielder Jean Beausejour had cancelled out Youssouf Mulumbu’s opener before Morrison’s fine strike restored the Baggies lead. Paul Scharner then headed home the third to round off an excellent afternoon for Roy Hodgson’s side.

West Brom 1-0 Chelsea (3^rd March, 2012 – Premier League)

Gareth McAuley’s late goal brought an end to Andre Villas Boas’ time as Chelsea manager.

The Northern Ireland defender turned home Liam Ridgewell’s mishit shot to give the hosts their first Premier League win over the Blues in 11 attempts.

Swansea City 1-2 West Brom (15^th March, 2014 – Premier League)

Pepe Mel won his first match in charge of Albion courtesy of a second half fightback at the Liberty Stadium.

After going behind to Roland Lamah’s 2^nd minute effort, Stephane Sessegnon pulled the Baggies level with a 25-yard strike just after the break. Mulumbu grabbed the crucial goal with five minutes to spare to move the Baggies three points clear of the danger zone.

West Brom 1-0 Manchester United (6^th March, 2016 – Premier League)

Salomon Rondon fired the only goal of the game as West Brom overcame the 10-men of Manchester United at the Hawthorns.

United midfielder Juan Mata was given his marching in the first half after collecting two bookings. The home side bagged the important goal in the 66^th minute when substitute Sebastien Pocognoli crossed for Rondon to turn the ball past David De Gea.
