Adam Forshaw’s return to action for Leeds United’s U23s on Friday evening was the first time he’d represented the Whites in almost two years.
The midfielder has had nothing but rotten luck since being struck down by a hip injury in late 2019, but after a long road to recovery, he’s finally back in action.
What a time to return as well, the midfielder played a part in the U23s clinching the title in their PL2 group, and judging by the comments on social media, he put in a real shift.
Indeed, fans were impressed by how well he played after almost two years out, and a number of supporters even remarked that it looked as though he’d never been away.
Of course, U23 football is completely different to the senior game in terms of intensity, especially when you’re playing under Marcelo Bielsa, but these minutes will certainly have been valuable for Forshaw.
Fingers crossed we can see him back in the first-team sooner rather than later.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on social media…
