Some Tottenham fans on Twitter have remained upbeat despite hearing news that Toby Alderweireld could be out for up to four weeks with a muscle injury.

The Belgian went down against Manchester City over the weekend, but it seems as though his injury isn’t as bad as some fans first feared as Jose Mourinho confirmed that there’s a chance could be back in a fortnight.

Of course, being without the centre-back will be a big blow for the team, but there is a silver lining in that this isn’t going to be a long-term problem that will keep him out for a sustained period.

Unfortunately, this means he will miss two massive games against Chelsea and Arsenal, but he could be back in time to face Spurs’ title rivals Liverpool on December 16th.

Spurs fans took the news rather well, with many supporters expressing relief and happiness that he won’t be gone for too long.

We can only hope that Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez are ready to fill the void left behind by Alderweireld as Spurs’ defence is going to be tested by the likes of Timo Werner and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the coming weeks.

Hopefully, he’s only out for two weeks rather than four as Mourinho put a rather broad timescale on his return.
