After months and months of speculation, Mohamed Salah has finally signed his new Liverpool contract.

The Egyptian had been stubborn in contract negotiations, and there was widespread worry that he would run down his deal and leave Anfield next summer.

However, Salah has now put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him on Merseyside until 2025, and, as you can imagine, Liverpool fans are over the moon with this news.

One man who is seemingly very happy to hear that Salah is staying at Anfield is Michael Owen, and he took to Twitter to give his reaction.

Owen described this update as brilliant news, and we’re sure many Liverpool fans agree.

Salah is not only one of Liverpool’s most important players, he’s one of the best footballers the Premier League has ever seen at this point.

A three-time Golden Boot winner, everything Salah touches turns to goals, and if Liverpool were to lose him next summer, they’d have had an almost impossible task when it came to replacing him.

Simply put, there aren’t many footballers on the planet who are at Salah’s level right now, and if he were to leave Anfield, he would leave behind some unfillable shoes.

Liverpool have already lost one star attacker this summer in the shape of Sadio Mane, but luckily, it seems as though Salah is here to stay.
