Ben Foster told the Football Show on Sky Sports (08/09/20 at 11:10 am) that he and his kids ‘chuckled’ after hearing rumours that Everton wanted to sign him this summer.
The Sun previously claimed that the Toffees are rivalling Chelsea for Foster’s signature after the experienced goalkeeper was relegated with Watford last season.
Everton have already signed a player from Vicarage Road in Abdoulaye Doucoure, who moved to Goodison Park yesterday joining Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez and Napoli’s Allan on Merseyside.
Whilst Doucoure has moved back to the Premier League, it seems as though his goalkeeping teammate is going to stay put in the Championship.
“Even my kids chuckled,” Foster laughed after being asked how he reacted to the Everton and Chelsea links.
“They were saying ‘Dad have you seen this?’ I was going ‘blooming hell, it must be a slow news today’.
“No truth [in the rumours]. Honestly that’s football for you.”

Whilst Foster won’t be joining Everton, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of Jordan Pickford being replaced in between the sticks by Carlo Ancelotti.
Pickford kept his England place during their two recent UEFA Nation League matches despite increasing pressure from Burnley’s Nick Pope.
But that doesn’t hide the fact that the former Sunderland man had yet another mistake-ridden season last time out, including making an error on the last day of the campaign against Bournemouth.
